Christmas

Christmas was wonderful this year. Here's a cute picture of the lovely little girl wearing her Christmas dress. I sang a song for Christmas Eve at church and it was very fun. I sang "A Cradle Prayer." I got a new outfit and I felt very pretty. Lily did very well for being so tired. It snowed like crazy on our way there, we almost didn't make it. I really enjoyed church for the first time in a while. It's nothing fancy but the people are so sweet which really makes a difference.
Lily was thoroughly spoiled and had a very fun Christmas. She really seems to get into the whole present thing. She was so cute, opening everyone's presents and getting so excited over all of it. She got so many toys! She got a rocking horse, two baby dolls, a doll house, a tractor, a xylophone, an art set, and a bunch of clothes! What a spoiled and happy baby!

Canine Cutie!

One of Lily's first words was Dog. She absolutely loves dogs. Every time she sees them she will scream in delight. Brian has a dog, Jake who is where she said her first word to. Every time she goes to Grammy's house she has to see her 3 dogs. She loves to be able to walk over to the fence and smile and talk to them while they bark at her. She will even bark back at them. But it sounds more like "Mm Mm Mm!" And she will say "Doggae! Doggae!" So for Halloween, guess what she was, a Doggae! She looked at herself in the mirror and got so excited that she had joined the breed. Maybe one day we'll get her a doggae!

Clean freak baby

Lily is a clean freak already. From getting her hands in the dirt to getting messy when she eats. She's so clean. When she does get dirty she looks at me and acts like she's about to cry. One day she was playing in the park and she was just learning how to walk outside and she would fall so many times. She would get sand stuck to her hands and hold them out like there was something wrong with them. I brushed them off and she was okay.
Another clean freak moment was on her 1st birthday. She had chocolate cupcakes. We put the cupcake on her tray and she tried to eat it, but the fact that the icing was sticking her her hands was very distracting when it came to eating it. She would try to shake off the icing and the cake flew all over the kitchen. She was more worried about the icing stuck to her than the yummy first take of chocolate.
Another instance was when I was getting her ready for her bath. She was completely nude and I let her run to the bath tub, when she had a little accident on the bathroom rug. She looks at what she's done and almost starts bawling. I just say to protect her sensitive spirit, "It's okay Lily go to the bath." And she gets into the bath and she was fine.
The best thing of all is that she will also imitate me cleaning. While I do the dishes or even dust the room, she will grab a washcloth and start wiping the floor or the coffee table. It is the most adorable thing ever.
Hey, maybe it'll last and I'll get some help with these dishes. She's probably thinking, "Mom, don't count on it."

Baby head banging

Going down the road with my little sister Rachel in my car I switch on the radio and turn it up. I have a silly song by Avril Lavigne playing called "I don't like your girlfriend." We dance in our seats singing loudly. Then we look behind us and see Lily banging her head back and forth to the music. It is so cute and hilarious. She's my head banging. She's the coolest baby around now. And the sweetest. Now every time the radio goes on she's head banging. My favorite head banging was at a Skillet concert. Everyone head bangs at those concerts. That was so much fun!

Bath is the magic word

Bath is the magic word. Grumpy in the evening, Lily is screaming and crying about nothing. She's just super tired. When the time hits about 8 o'clock I'm just about sick of the whining. And then I say the magic word, "Bath?" And I keep repeating it "Lily do you want a Bath? Bath?" Her crying finally ceases and she looks up at me and says "Baa! Baa! BAA!" Then she will practically jump off of my bed and run to the bathroom. She stands next to the bath and screams "Baa! Baa!" She would jump in the bath with everything on if I let her but I convince her to go into her room to get undressed. Finally my sweet little girl gets her greatest desire, her bath! She splashes me so much but I don't mind because she is having the best time. And I get one of my greatest desires also, a nice smelling, clean, and extremely happy toddler who is finally tired enough to go to sleep. And then I get a break before I go to bed! Woo hoo! Bath is definitely the magic word!

Book Hats

Today Lily discovered a new way of using her books. She will now wear them on top of her head a walk around like they are a hat. And not only will she walk around but she will scream her very lovely scream at the top of her lungs. Ear piercing, and hits your nerves just the right way to make you cringe. Gotta love toddlers.
